The story of the relationship between Karamakate, an Amazonian shaman and last survivor of his people, and two scientists who work together over the course of forty years to search the Amazon for a sacred healing plant.

About the event
Shot almost entirely in black and white, the film follows two journeys made thirty years apart by the Indigenous shaman Karamakate in the Colombian Amazonian jungle: one with Theo, a German ethnographer, and the other with Evan, an American botanist. Both are searching for the rare plant yakuza. The film was inspired by the travel diaries of Theodor Koch-Grünberg and Richard Evans Schultes and dedicated to lost Amazonian cultures.
